Meet our New Team Members

In order to continue to provide unparalleled service to clients we have added a few members to our UK Team to help support our offices in Nigeria and the UK.

Abiola Ososanya, Craig Knight and Amos Akinwale have joined as Associates. As well as the additions to our staff members, we have acquired a new office in our building, drastically expanding our operational capability. We are certain that this will help us to function more productively for you.

Former Abbey College Manchester Principal Jenny Thomas joins TIEC

We are pleased to announce that Mrs Jenny Thomas former Principal of Abbey College Manchester and Deputy Head at Giggleswick School joined TIEC officially in January 2011 as Director of Independent School Placements. Mrs Thomas recently visited Nigeria in the end of January and will be back again towards the end of the academic year.

Jenny brings with her several years of experience of the UK schools system as well as tremendous knowledge of the University system. Having worked at two of the leading schools in the UK we are ever so pleased to have such an experienced professional on our team.

Grange Headmaster visits TIEC Cambridge office

Mr. William Pope visited the TIEC Cambridge office on the 10^thof March 2011. He was there to meet the TIEC team and familiarise himself with educational scene in Cambridge. The Grange is one of Nigerias Leading Colleges. We are expectant that his trip will facilitate stronger ties between TIEC and Grange we also believe Cambridge will have a positive influence on the schools policy towards UK education.

Abbey College College Director travels to Nigeria

UK Student VISA

What are the key things to consider before applying for a student visa?

Make sure you understand both what the visa rules are, and how the visa application process works. This is available on the UK Visas website.
We know that many students find it difficult to demonstrate that they have sufficient funds for their stay in the UK. This is very important to get right. It goes without saying that you should only submit documents that are genuine and verifiable.
Make sure you complete the application form as accurately and as clearly as possible. The new application form which was introduced recently should be easier to complete on-line and will enable us to make decisions more easily.
Finally, leave plenty of time to get your visa. It’s often not very high up the ‘to do’ list when preparing to go to the UK, but if it’s left to the last minute then it can delay things. Although the visa process itself is quick, remember that lots of students tend to want their visas at the same time. In Nigeria, I’d recommend you apply for a student visa at least 8 weeks before the course is due to start, or at least 12 weeks in the busy summer season. The actual processing time for a student visa in Nigeria is currently one week.
